Kathrine d'costa and her friend, Eileen, representing Sydney's inner west, KIDsize Living organisation are jumping head first into one of the biggest and most exciting challenges of their lives by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro from 26 February to 11 March 2013 to help Special Olympics Australia provide all year round training for kids and adults with an intellectual disability.
They decided to undertake the climb as part of their KIDsize Living journey because they felt it was time to give something back.
Katherine and Eileen see the climb as a huge challenge but know it will increase awareness of Special Olympics Australia and raise much needed funds for this worthy not-for-profit organisation.
To get to the 2013 Kilimanjaro Challenge, Katherine and Eileen need to raise a total of $20,000.
Katherine and Eileen have a facebook page about their 'adventure' which will post information about fund-raising nights as well as enable everyone to follow them on their journey.
It's called "Two Mums and a Mountain" so visit it now to learn more about these remarkable women and to learn how you can help them succeed in their quest!
The Newtown Jets are donating two merchandise packs to assist with their fund raising.
