Jets aim to finish off competition rounds with a strong performance

The Newtown Jets booked themselves a place in the 2019 Canterbury Cup NSW finals with their energised 42-14 win against Western Suburbs at Henson Park last Saturday. They play the Newcastle Knights at Henson Park this Saturday, 31st August, and will be aiming to go into the 2019 finals on the back of another polished team performance. The Knights beat the Jets 24-4 in round one at the McDonald Jones Stadium back on Friday, 15th March.

Big Saulala Houma played with the Newtown Jets from 2012 to 2017 and was a member of Newtown’s 2012 NSW Cup premiership-winning team. These days Saulala is a rampaging front-rower for the Wagga Kangaroos RLFC down in Group 9 in southern NSW. Saulala features on the front cover of the updated Newtown Jets club history, Taking It To The Streets – The Second Life of the Newtown RLFC.
