It is with regret that the Newtown RLFC announces the recent passing of a former long-serving team official and Life Member in Brian Chilvers.
Brian was the quintessential Newtown Bluebag and Jet who had a long involvement with CYO Rugby League and Newtown junior representative teams from the early 1960s.
He rendered splendid service to the Newtown RLFC as a team manager and third grade secretary from the early 1970s before becoming the club's assistant secretary in 1978, a position he held for several years.
Brian also had many years of active involvement with St Pius's Parish, Enmore and with the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The Newtown Rugby League Football Club was well represented at Brian's funeral and extends sincere condolences to Brian's family members.
