Along with the Jets President Barry Vining, Terry Rowney is quite justifiably credited with keeping the Newtown RLFC alive since the old foundation club last played in first grade Rugby League in 1983. Terry's election gives the Newtown RLFC its highest level of representation within the NSWRL for the past 40 years (a former Newtown player and official Bill Buckley was President of the NSWRL from 1960 to 1973). Terry's successful record in business, his street savvy and his lifelong commitment to the Rugby League game will be of considerable benefit to the NSWRL at a time of enormous change within the power circles of the thirteen-a-side code. Terry is also certain to be a strong advocate for the best interests of the flagship competition of the NSWRL, the NSW Cup. |
