Todd Carney to wear the Royal Blue of the Jets

back

Sydney Roosters Dally M award winner for 2010 and International, Todd Carney, will play for the Newtown Jets in their NSW Cup fixture against Manly-Warringah at Brookvale Oval on Saturday afternoon.

This decision is one reached by Carney and his Roosters NRL head coach, Brian Smith, on the assumption that the high-profile Roosters player needs more on-field time to get his game back to its best.

With the Roosters having a bye in the NRL competition this weekend, the opportunity is there for Carney to have a hit-out with Newtown, the Roosters' NSW Cup partnership club.

Carney's inclusion in the Newtown Jets team to play Manly-Warringah has attracted considerable media interest and no doubt a larger than usual crowd will be in attendance for this stand-alone NSW Cup fixture at Brookvale Oval. The action gets underway at 3.00pm on Saturday, 18 June.
