The International Federation of Freight Forwarders (FIATA) recently held its World Congress in Cairo.
On the last day of the Congress, the Presidency issued a Certificate for Honorary Membership of FIATA to Mr Barry Vining in recognition of his long-standing and exemplary service as FIATA's Vice President.
The Director General of FIATA, Mr Marco A. Sangaletti, has written to congratulate Barry on being granted this honour and to express the organisation's thanks to him for his many years of service and close cooperation.
It is the first time that this particular honour has been accorded to an Australian since the inception of FIATA in 1926.
Barry, of course, is very well-known in Australian Rugby League circles for his long association and leadership role with the Newtown RLFC. He has been a Director of the club since 1980 and President since 1986, and was made a Life Member of the Newtown RLFC in 1993.
