So much for summer – bring on the rugby league!

The Newtown Jets have been through an exacting pre-season training program, accompanied by searing summer temperatures and high humidity. And now at last it’s time for the Jets’ first trial match on Sunday, 17^th February.

The details of the triple-header of trial games at Wentworth Park next Sunday are as follows: –

Date: Sunday, 17^th February 2019

Venue: Wentworth Park

1.15pm: Sydney University v Ryde-Eastwood (Sydney Shield trial match)

3.00pm: Glebe Ron Massey Cup squad v North Sydney Jersey Flegg (Ron Massey Cup trial match)

5.00pm: Newtown v North Sydney (Intrust Super Premiership trial match)

Gates open at 12.30pm.

Adults $10, kids under 16 free.

Best wishes from the Newtown RLFC to Scott Dureau:

Scott Dureau joined Newtown in 2014 when he was a mid-season signing by the Sydney Roosters. He turned in some memorable performances during his stay with this club and made a lot of friends.

We understand he isn’t in the best of health at the moment, and I am sure that everyone connected with the Newtown Jets would extend their sincere best wishes to Scott and his family.
