Sunday’s match against Wentworthville is one between two teams fighting for a place in the top eight

The Jets will be relying on the younger brigade to bring them through at Ringrose on Sunday. Of the 19 Newtown players named in this weekend’s Big League magazine, eleven are 22 years old or younger.

On 6th October 2019 at ANZ Stadium, the Newtown Jets defeated Burleigh Bears 20-16 in the NRL State Championship Final. This win effectively made Newtown the best club team (outside of the NRL competition) in Australia, New Zealand and Papua-New Guinea.
