Wenty is coming off a 40-18 mauling at the hands of Wests Tigers last weekend and will be primed for a much-improved performance. They are one of the most improved teams in the 2016 ISP NSW and this is a real danger game for the Jets.

Newtown is in third place on the competition table, but no fewer than five clubs are only one point behind the Jets.

Newtown’s team captain Mitch Brown is out with a knee injury.

There is a general bye next weekend (7th and 8th May) for all clubs in the ISP NSW competition. This is the annual representative games weekend and the ISP NSW rep team will be playing their Queensland equivalents, the Intrust Super Cup Queensland rep team.

Newtown’s next ISP NSW game is against the competition leaders Mounties at Henson Park on Saturday, 14th May at Henson Park, set down for a 3.00pm kick-off. This home game occasion is officially named as Ladies Day, when the Newtown RLFC pays tribute to the enormous role played by so many women in all aspects of the modern Rugby League game.

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
