The University of Rugby League makes its return – and this time the focus is going to be on the media

There are several estates that make up the Rugby League realm: The first estate is the players, the second estate the officials and the third estate the fans. The fourth estate is the press.

Newtown Rugby League Football Club proudly presents…

THE UNIVERSITY OF RUGBY LEAGUE PART 2 – THE FOURTH ESTATE:

In 1981 Warren Ryan, Phil Gould and Ken Wilson were dubbed the University of Rugby League by their colleagues and peers for the foresight with which, over post-game and training beverages, they analysed the game and where it might be headed. The University of Rugby League Part 1 brought together these pre-eminent thinkers of Rugby League’s modern era for an amazing night of robust Rugby League discussion.

This time we call upon the game’s fourth estate to provide more of the same and prove they are the guardian of the fans and a watchdog on the activities of players and officials.

So join the Jets and some of the game’s finest scribes and commentators for a fascinating evening of hard-hitting Rugby League commentary, anecdotes and analysis, reminiscing and anything else that unfolds in between.

This will be an event NOT to be missed.

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
