It might be a big nostalgia day for Wests Magpies – but the Jets really need the competition points this Saturday

Western Suburbs host Newtown at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday, and please note the early kick-off time at 1.00pm. This match is being televised live by Channel Nine, and it is also a huge Return to Lidcombe Day for our old foundation club compadres, Wests Magpies. Wests have joined the Intrust Super Premiership NSW competition this year, after last playing in the former NSW Cup in 2012. The Newtown Jets need this win badly after last Saturday’s capitulation against last-placed Wyong. This Saturday’s Magpies-Jets encounter also marks the return of the Tom Raudonikis Cup.
