Jets’ Ladies Day Donation to Elsie Women’s Refuge
Last Saturday at Henson Park as part of Newtown RLFC’s annual Ladies Day promotion where the club pays tribute to the enormous role played by women in the game, the Jets raised $695 for St Vincent De Paul’s Elsie Women’s Refuge.
Located in the Inner West of Sydney, Elsie Women’s Refuge is a crisis accommodation and case management service for women with children who have experienced domestic/family violence. It provides safe shared accommodation with individual bedrooms. Australia’s oldest Rugby League club was only too happy to make a contribution to this very worthy cause.

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
