Looking back on one of the greatest season’s in the club’s history
Virtual Season 2020 rugby league returns to your screens this Wednesday night, 21st October. Rather than focusing on one particular game from the past, this Wednesday’s presentation is an expertly-compiled documentary on the 2019 season, “We are the Champions: Newtown Jets – the Rugby League Story of the Year.”
The splendidly-presented documentary takes you through the pre-season leading into the 2019 season; the less than auspicious beginning to the competition rounds, with the Jets losing six of their first seven competition games; the improved performance and team-work which led to Newtown finishing in seventh place on the premiership table and qualifying for the Canterbury Cup finals; and then the stirring progression through the finals series, ending in the remarkable double triumphs in the 2019 Canterbury Cup grand final and the NRL State Championship Final.
You’ll see all of this in the 55-minutes long documentary and what a night’s entertainment it is going to be! Tune in at 8.00pm, Wednesday, 21st October to the Jets TV channel, www.newtownjets.com, or to www.facebook.com/newtownrlfc
And to wet your appetite…
Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
