It’s the biggest game of the season to date as two old rivals, fellow foundation clubs & KOE NSW Cup heavyweights go head-to-head. It’s always a special occasion when Newtown and Norths battle for the Frank Hyde Shield and this Saturday is no exception. A very consistent Bears outfit, currently 2nd on the ladder take on a high-flying Jets side, buoyant after six consecutive wins that has elevated them into 3rd place. Henson Park is definitely the place to be this Saturday, so come all ye Bluebags and cheer loudly for our Men All Dressed In Blue and help get us home against the Grizzlies from the other side of the bridge. Cronulla Sharks take on Newcastle Knights in a Harvey Norman Women’s trial from 1pm.

With the King George V Memorial Grandstand still open to the public there will be plenty of undercover seating at Henson Park this Saturday.

There will be plenty of fun to be had on the DEICORP Family Hill with FREE jumping castles, face painting & pass the ball to keep the kids entertained. Ice Cream Joe’s Mr Whippy & Barista will be in attendance, next to the Main Canteen whilst Philter’s Henson Park Draught, XPA and other tasty brews are available for all the Mums, Dads and over 18s along with Seagrams VO Canadian Whisky & Dry, Southern Comfort & Coke & Hard Fizz Sparkling Hard Seltzer courtesy of Buffalo Trace, the exclusive dark spirits whiskey partner of the Newtown Jets

Newtown Jets’ home game raffle is on again featuring a delicious Meat Tray from Dulwich Hill Gourmet Meats along with our famous Fruit & Veg box courtesy of Bobby and Chris Petersen, a case of Henson Park Draught care of Philter and some yummy Jets biscuits thanks to J Kreations. So as Lynchy always says… ‘Dig deep & support the Jets’.

As part of our Community Schools Project, we welcome Camdenville Public School to Henson Park this Saturday. Camdenville Public will be running a sausage sizzle & cake stall on the hill with lots yummy offerings to raise funds for their coffers.

After the game, the Jets invite members, supporters and friends to the Henson Park Hotel from 5.30pm to mingle with players and coaching staff and hopefully celebrate a victory. Henson Park Hotel is located at 91 Illawarra Road, Marrickville.

If you cannot get to Henson Park this Saturday, the game is being televised on NSWRL TV.

Please be advised that due to the imminent redevelopment & upgrade of the King George V Memorial Grandstand, there is no parking inside the ground for the general public.

Go the Jets!

The Newtown Jets might have been off their game on Saturday, but they still retained the Tom Raudonikis Cup for 2025 by virtue of their better points for and against over the two games played against Western Suburbs this season.
