After a high-flying start to the season where Newtown won seven of their first eight games, the months of May & June have so far brought little joy. Whilst injuries have not been kind, the Jets have pretty much been grounded.
The good news is we’re still in the top 5, but to stay there, we have to start winning football games on a consistent basis.
There is no better time for that to start than this Sunday at North Sydney Oval.
It’s the first leg of the Frank Hyde Shield; it’s a grand final replay; it’s time for our boys to rediscover their mojo and get our premiership defense back on track.
That task will be made easier with a big contingent of the Bluebags faithful out in force at Bear Park cheering loudly for our Men All Dressed in Blue.
If you can’t make it across the Harbour Bridge, the game will be livestreamed on BarTV NSWRL so find a screen and Go the Jets!
Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
