Well the minor premiership season ends where it all started with the Jets taking on the Warriors this Saturday at Henson Park hoping to reverse the result of their Round 1 clash in Auckland. It’s third versus fourth and while both teams are assured of a place in the finals there will be plenty on the line when they face up this weekend.

Our Men All Dressed in Blue will be looking to bounce back after being grounded last week in Wollongong by the Dragons, especially in front of a big Reunion Day crowd at our last home game of the season. Reunion Day is always a special occasion where we welcome past players, officials & supporters to celebrate everything it means to be a Bluebag.

We also welcome the Newtown Jets Physical Disability RLA team to Henson Park on Saturday for a NSWPDRLA double header with games at 12.45pm & 1.40pm.

There will be plenty of fun to be had on the DEICORP Family Hill with FREE jumping castles, face painting & pass the ball to keep the kids entertained. Ice Cream Joe’s Mr Whippy & Barista will be in attendance, next to the Main Canteen whilst Philter’s Henson Park Draught, XPA and other tasty brews are available for all the Mums, Dads and over 18s along with Seagrams VO Canadian Whisky & Dry, Southern Comfort & Coke & Hard Fizz Sparkling Hard Seltzer courtesy of Buffalo Trace, the exclusive dark spirits whiskey partner of the Newtown Jets

Newtown Jets’ home game raffle is on again featuring a delicious Meat Tray from Dulwich Hill Gourmet Meats along with our famous Fruit & Veg box courtesy of Bobby and Chris Petersen, a case of Henson Park Draught care of Philter, a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whisky along with two tickets to the Buffalo Stampede and some yummy Jets biscuits thanks to J Kreations. So as Lynchy always says… ‘Dig deep & support the Jets!’

If all of that is not enough, why not become a part of history when BUFFALO TRACE DISTILLERY & NEWTOWN JETS HOST AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST WHISKEY TASTING JUST IN TIME FOR FATHER’S DAY on the hallowed turf of Henson Park post-game from 6pm – 8.30pm. For more information: https://www.newtownjets.com/buffalo-stampede-comes-to-henson-park-buffalo-trace-distillery-newtown-jets-host-australias-largest-whiskey-tasting-just-in-time-for-fathers-day/. The event will sell out so while we recommend pre-purchasing tickets, there will be a limited number available at the ground this Saturday.

After the game, the Jets invite members, supporters and friends not attending the Buffalo Trace Brand Stampede to the Henson Park Hotel from 5.30pm to mingle with players and coaching staff and hopefully celebrate a victory. Henson Park Hotel is located at 91 Illawarra Road, Marrickville.

If you cannot get to Henson Park this Saturday, the game is being televised on NSWRL TV.

Please be advised that the redevelopment & upgrade of the King George V Memorial Grandstand has begun. As a result, there is no parking inside the ground for the general public.

Go the Jets!

The Newtown Jets secure a finals double-chance with narrow win over the Warriors

The Newtown Jets might have lost 34-24 to St George-Illawarra on Saturday, but they have won the 2024 Tom Kirk Cup on the basis of having defeated the Dragons 26-10 earlier this year. Jets loss to the Dragons costs them the chance to take the competition lead
