Newtown Jets Virtual Team List v Blacktown Sea Eagles Wed 15th July, 2020
Welcome to Round 18 of Newtown Jets Virtual Season 2020.
While we might not be able to watch Newtown Jets games live this season we can relive past glories from years gone by. As part of Virtual Season 2020, JETS TV is broadcasting classic matches featuring our opponents from the 2020 Canterbury Cup NSW draw in “Amco Cup retro-style” on Wednesday nights at 8.00pm. Our intrepid social media team will “live tweet” the game as if they had entered a time machine and want you to be part of the action.
This Wednesday, 15th July they’re back at ‘the jewel in the crown of Rugby League grounds’, Henson Park to bring you a Canterbury Cup NSW between Newtown and the Sea Eagles that was actually played on Sunday, 19th May, 2019 as part of the NSWRL’s ‘Magic Round’.
After a gut-wrenching Grand Final loss the year before, Newtown had started the season miserably winning only one of their first seven games before recording a hard fought 26-24 victory at home against the Bunnies the game prior. Similarly, Blacktown were languishing towards the bottom of the ladder. Both teams’ seasons hung in the balance going into the game.
So be sure to tune in at 8.00pm, Wednesday, 15th July to JETS TV www.newtownjets.com or www.facebook.com/newtownrlfc and follow us on www.twitter.com/newtownrlfc to see what unfolds.

The willingness and generosity of our members, supporters and friends to join this critically-needed fund-raising campaign has been awe-inspiring.
We recognize not everyone can afford to help financially during these extremely challenging times but if you can, there is always room to join this mighty crusade to keep the Jets alive in rugby league football.
For an outlay of $100.00 you will be given access to Jets memorabilia that will last a lifetime. It will enable you to relive time and again one of the greatest year’s in our club’s history – 2019. While we have no live games to watch this year, you can relive the majestic glories of last season when you JOIN HERE .
The support from our members and friends will help ensure we return in 2021 to defend our 2019 Canterbury Cup NSW premiership and our NRL State Championship title.
Massive thanks to all our loyal members and sponsors that have stuck with us for 2020, regardless of the season being cancelled to help the club through this tumultuous time. You are the spirit of 8972 personified.
Another way you can Keep The Jets Flying is donating to Laps With Trady. This fundraiser has been set up by a group of members and supporters and features our lovable larrikin John Trad doing laps of Henson Park on his trusty penny farthing every week. Check out https://www.facebook.com/Laps-with-Trady-100545721662756/ for all the details and don’t be afraid to venture down to the ‘eighth wonder of the modern world’ this Thursday night from 6pm to cheer on Trady as he crashes through the 300 barrier.
Last Saturday, Trady chalked up lap 299 on his fully restored Penny Farthing (many thanks to Trev from the Gladstone Hotel). Jase Pritchard caught up with him at full-time. Watch the video
Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
