Newtown Jets Virtual Team List v Central Newcastle Sat 23rd May, 2020

While we might not be able to watch Newtown Jets games live this season we can relive past glories from years gone by. As part of Virtual Season 2020 every Saturday from 3pm JETS TVwill broadcast classic encounters featuring our opponents from the 2020 Canterbury Cup NSW draw. Our intrepid social media team will “live tweet” the game as if they had entered a time machine and want you to be part of the action.

This weekend we were supposed to travel up the M1 to take on the Newcastle Knights.

So at 3pm on Saturday 23rd May tune in to JETS TV www.newtownjets.com and follow us on www.twitter.com/newtownrlfc as we as go back to 2008 when Newtown took on the Knights’ feeder team Central Newcastle in a Round 8 NSW Cup game at Henson Park. The Jets went into the match as favourites with four wins and a draw from their first seven matches and would go onto make the Grand Final eventually going down 12-8 to Wentworthville in the marathon 104 minute encounter.
