Whilethe Jets aren’t playing this weekend, there are two clubs playing in theheartland of the inner-city on Sunday who just happen to be the partnershipclubs of the Newtown RLFC:

The Glebe Dirty Reds and Sydney University are both playing at historic Wentworth Park, the ground where earlier versions of these two clubs played in previous decades.
In Glebe’s case, the Dirty Reds made Wentworth Park their much-feared home ground between 1908 and 1929. Sydney University also played at Wentworth Park on numerous occasions between 1920 and 1937.

Manyold-timers swear that Frank Burge might well have been the greatest rugbyleague player of all time.

Burgecoached Newtown in 1940 and he has an amazing rugby league résumé.
