Jets proudly unveil The Vining Room
On Saturday 22nd September, we were proud to stand with the Vining family to name a space within our new Henson Park facility in memory of Barry Vining OAM, the longest-serving President in Newtown Jets history.
Barry joined the board in 1980 and became President in 1986, steering the Club through some of its hardest years, including a period when Newtown had no team on the field at all. His leadership and negotiating skills helped bring the Jets back from the brink and build them into the respected Club we know today, culminating in premierships across the 1990s, 2012, 2019 and 2024.
Beyond his 32 years as President, Barry was known and loved throughout the Newtown Jets community for his generosity, kindness, and lifelong devotion to this Club.
The Vining Room stands as a lasting tribute to that legacy, ensuring his name remains part of Henson Park for generations of Jets to come.
Thank you to the Vining family for sharing this moment with us.
