The inaugural Wilson-Blacklock Cup is up for grabs this Saturday when the Newtown Jets (currently 3rd) travel to the foot of the mountains to tackle an in-form Penrith Panthers outfit (5th) at BlueBet Stadium from 5.05pm. The Jets are licking their wounds after a third straight defeat at home last weekend against the Sea Eagles in front of a monster Beer Footy Food Festival crowd, whilst the Panthers are coming off a big win over the Bulldogs. Newtown defeated Penrith 29-16 when the teams previously met in Round 10 in what was a bruising encounter. It’s likely to be the same this Saturday. Here’s to a “backs to the wall” win for our Men All Dressed in Blue.
