Kick-off is at 3.15pm, so come all ye Bluebags faithful as our boys fight once more to keep their season alive

BLUEBAGS SURVIVE A CLASSIC — AND MARCH ON TO KOGARAH
George Ndaira’s post-game speech summed up the dressing-room mood perfectly: “I’ve got two words… TAJ FORD.”
From there it rolled straight into another thunderous rendition of Everywhere We Go after the most remarkable Newtown Jets victory since the 2019 NRL State Championship decider against the Burleigh Bears. Back then it was Billy Magoulias — for the second week running — whose boot carved itself into Jets folklore.
This time, it was Taj Ford, cool as ice, nailing field goals in the 77th and 79th minutes to end North Sydney’s season in an exhilarating elimination semi-final at Leichhardt Oval. It was sudden-death football at its purest — tense, chaotic, unforgettable — and everyone who witnessed it knew they’d seen something special.
But it wasn’t just Ford. It was another triumphant team effort from Our Men All Dressed in Blue, who continue to walk the tightrope of knockout football with grit, belief and that unmistakable Newtown spirit.
And now the journey continues.
NEXT STOP: KOGARAH — KNIGHTS AWAIT
This Saturday at Kogarah Jubilee Stadium, the Jets face the Newcastle Knights in a do-or-die Finals Week 3 showdown.
The Novocastrians are 2–0 against Newtown this season — a convincing win in the RD11 NSWRL Magic Round at North Sydney Oval, followed by a tough, grinding victory at our Beer Footy Food Festival in RD20. They arrive armed with NRL experience in Tyson Gamble and James Schiller, a pack stacked with size and aggression, and serious strike in the backline — especially with the addition of Melchizedek Nonu.
It is, without question, the fiercest challenge yet in the Bluebags’ quest for Premiership glory.
