If the footy isn’t enough, this Saturday is also the biggest day of the year at Henson Park as we host the 10th Anniversary edition of the BEER FOOTY & FOOD FESTIVAL (tickets selling fast here). BFFF brings together Sydney’s best craft brewers and food vendors on our iconic hill, with plenty on offer to keep you hydrated and well fed. Expect our official hydration partners PHILTER, our dark spirits sponsor Kraken along with our great mates at TokyoTaco serving up their fantastic footy feasts.

And that’s just the start. There’s pre- and post-game wrestling from Pro Wrestling Australia — now a genuine crowd favourite — plus Bubbling with Energy’s infamous inflatable world for the kids and Fairy Eyes face painting. It’s a full day of entertainment for the whole family. This year also sees the return of Streaker Bullrush, where brave contestants take on security dressed only in Budgies, Trainers and a Philter cap in a game of, you guessed it, bullrush.

Gates and stalls open from 11.30am, with the main game at 3.30pm. Get there early to avoid the queues.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • Parking restrictions — There is no parking inside Henson Park nor at Marrickville High School.

  • Transport options — Street parking is limited, so we strongly recommend public transport. Our mates at Busfleet Australia will run a courtesy bus from Sydenham Station to Henson Park between 12pm and 3pm.

  • Member entry — Newtown RLFC members get in free with a 2026 BFFF game day pass. Regular passes will not be accepted.

  • Partner club exclusions — Petersham RSL members are not entitled to discounted $10 tickets, and Cronulla Sharks 2026 members are not entitled to free entry.

  • Gate access — Entry is via Sydenham Road and Woodland Street.

  • Ticketing — Entry is $35 at the gate, but we recommend pre-purchasing tickets HERE. Henson Park will be card-only inside the ground.

The BEER FOOTY & FOOD FESTIVAL has become one of Sydney’s premier entertainment events and is simply not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there. Saturday is also a chance for our Men All Dressed in Blue to redeem themselves in front of a bumper BFFF crowd after two heartbreaking two-point losses. The Jets remain fifth on the ladder — but that won’t hold if they fall to the Novocastrians.

Our Main Canteen beside the grandstand will be trading all day, serving Philter’s Newtown Lager, XPA, and other tasty brews for the over-18s, along with Kraken & Cola and Kraken & Dry, courtesy of Kraken, the exclusive dark spirits partner of the Newtown Jets. Ice Cream Joe’s Mr Whippy & Barista and Mr Kernal serving hot dogs, tenders, fries and chips on a stick will also be nearby – make sure you check them out.

The Newtown Jets home game raffle is back, featuring a delicious meat tray from Dulwich Hill Gourmet Meats, our famous fruit & veg box courtesy of Chris Petersen, a case of Philter’s finest, and some yummy Jets biscuits thanks to J Kreations. As Lynchy always says… ‘Dig deep & support the Jets!’
