The coveted Frank Hyde Shield goes on the line this Sunday when fellow foundation clubs Newtown Jets (currently 3rd) & North Sydney Bears (currently 2nd) go head-to-head at Bear Park from 3pm. The Jets are still smarting from their one point loss to Norths earlier in the season at Henson Park when they were run down after leading 22-6 at half time. It’s always a great game when these teams meet but the stakes are particularly high on Sunday. There will be no doubt be a big crowd in attendance, especially since the Bears are holding their annual Old Boys’ day, so come on Newtown supporters, get along in numbers to cheer on the Men all dressed in blue.
For those that can’t make it to North Sydney Oval, the game is being live streamed by NSWRL TV at https://www.facebook.com/NSWRL/.
Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
