Newtown Jets Virtual Team List v Penrith Panthers Sat 9th May, 2020

While we might not be able to watch Newtown Jets games live this season we can relive past glories from years gone by. As part of Virtual Season 2020 every Saturday from 3pm JETS TVwill broadcast classic encounters featuring our opponents from the 2020 Canterbury Cup NSW draw. Our intrepid social media team will “live tweet” the game as if they had entered a time machine and want you to be part of the action.

This weekend we were supposed to play Penrith at the foot of the mountains.

So at 3pm on Saturday 9th May tune in to JETS TV www.newtownjets.com and follow us on www.twitter.com/newtownrlfc as we revisit a thrilling encounter between the Jets and the Panthers played at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 19th July, 2014. Due to an oddity with the draw the two teams met the weekend prior at Penrith Stadium with ladder leaders & eventual Premiers Penrith winning 36-20. The Panthers were on an eleven game winning streak that showed no signs of ending whilst Newtown desperately needed to win the game to remain in touch with the top 8.

Newtown Jets has named its team from the game. Many thanks to our Player Sponsors listed in brackets.
