The Newtown RLFC pays tribute to another of our club’s major sponsors
Once again we are pleased to pay tribute to and recognise another of our major sponsoring organisations.
The Newtown RLFC is very reliant on financial support from sponsors who have enabled this club to continue to compete in what is the second highest-standard rugby league competition in Australia.
We are pleased to honour the Petersham RSL Club in this newsletter. The Petersham RSL Club (located at 7 Regent Street, Petersham) has been a generous and staunch sponsoring organisation of the Newtown Jets for more than 20 years, and it has also been “a home away from home” for the Jets for a great many events such as season launches, sports dinners, special fund-raising events, grand final night and State Championship night celebrations and also end of season presentation evenings. Here’s to the Directors, management, staff and members of the Petersham RSL Club for their magnificent long-term support of the Newtown RLFC!
The Newtown RLFC is delighted to offer congratulations to Jets second-rower Bronson Garlick, following the news that he has agreed to terms with the Melbourne Storm for 2022.
At the time of the enforced cessation of the 2021 Knock-On Effect NSW Cup competition, Bronson was the leading try-scorer for the Newtown Jets and was having a splendid season.
Bronson’s father Sean was an accomplished hooker with the South Sydney and Sydney Roosters clubs between 1990 and 1999 (as well as being a fill actor), and Bronson’s older brother Jackson has been a very useful hooker and clubman for both the Newtown Jets and Glebe Dirty Reds in recent seasons. Bronson is a first-rate young man and we are confident he will prove to be a valuable signing for that high-performance NRL club, the Melbourne Storm.
Here’s another reminder of the tremendous offers that the Newtown Jets are running for Father’s Day 2021.’

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
