Jets well represented in the Intrust Super Premiership NSW Team of the Year

A proud achievement for our club – Josh Cleeland, Kurt Capewell and Matt McIlwrick have all won selection in the NSWRL Intrust Super Premiership NSW

In what is most certainly a high-level recognition of the Newtown Jets first-rate ISP NSW season, three Jets team members have won representation in the prestigious ISP NSW Team of the Year.

The three players are Josh Cleeland, Kurt Capewell and Matt McIlwrick. Their names and performances are synonymous with the high standards reached by the Newtown Jets club during the 2016 season.

The Newtown Jets say farewell and thank you to a superb player and popular club identity, Billy Magoulias

One of the prestige awards of the night is the Fred Daly Memorial Shield, which is awarded to the player considered to have rendered the most outstanding service to the Newtown RLFC on and off the field. This year's recipient is the Henson Park crowd favourite and powerhouse middle forward Brad "Big Red" Fearnley, flanked by the club President Barry Cotter (left) and the Australian Mutual Bank sponsorship executive and Development Manager Glen Warner (right). Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
