Newtown Jets Virtual Team List v Parramatta Eels Wed 24th June, 2020

While we might not be able to watch Newtown Jets games live this season we can relive past glories from years gone by. As part of Virtual Season 2020, JETS TVis broadcasting classic matches featuring our opponents from the 2020 Canterbury Cup NSW draw in “Amco Cup retro-style” on Wednesday nights at 8.00pm. Our intrepid social media team will “live tweet” the game as if they had entered a time machine and want you to be part of the action.

This Wednesday, 24th June they’re travelling to Telstra Stadium to bring you the VB Premier League Grand Final between Newtown and Parramatta that was actually played on Sunday, 3rd October 2006.

It was a game that pitted Minor Premiers & defending champions Parramatta against the Jets who finished in 2nd place on the competition table. Newtown was in the first year of a five year partnership with the Sydney Roosters. The association really clicked into gear with an important win over Balmain at Henson Park way back on Easter Saturday, and on the back of the likes of Glenn Hall, Jamie Soward, Josh Lewis, Mitch Aubusson, the Paea brothers, Heath L’Estrange, Aiden Kirk & a host of others the Jets stayed in second position for most of the remainder of the season.

So be sure to tune in at 8.00pm, Wednesday, 24th June to JETS TV www.newtownjets.com or www.facebook.com/newtownrlfc  and follow us on www.twitter.com/newtownrlfc to see what unfolds.
