Most Newtown Jets supporters would have seen the black and white version of this photo of the Newtown RLFC NSWRL first grade premiership-winning team of 1943, captained by the mighty Frank “Bumper” Farrell and coached by Arthur Folwell. This colourised version has been kindly supplied by a Newtown Jets supporter named Coll who has done a number of other interesting colourisations as well.

NSWRL Major Competitions Update

The NSW Rugby League has advised that the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup has been suspended for a further two weeks, up until and inclusive of the weekend of the 31st July/1st August at least.

This means that Newtown’s projected home game against Western Suburbs on the 24th July has been suspended.

The Newtown Jets have a bye on the weekend of the 31st July/1st August.

The Newtown RLFC has tackled the COVID-19 outbreak by sharing their storied history throughout a number of small towns in regional NSW and Queensland.

The 2021 English Rugby League Challenge Cup Final was played early this morning Australia time between St Helens and Castleford, in what was a genuine War of the Roses Lancashire v Yorkshire showdown.

There were four former Newtown Jets players named in the Castleford Tigers squad: backrower Grant Millington, centre Cheyse Blair, front-rower Jesse Sene-Lefao and winger Sosaia Feki.

Grant Millington is in his tenth season at Castleford and is regarded as one of the best ball-playing forwards in the English Super League competition.

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
