Newtown Jets Virtual Team List v North Sydney Bears Wed 27th May, 2020

While we might not be able to watch Newtown Jets games live this season we can relive past glories from years gone by. As part of Virtual Season 2020 now at the NEW TIME of Wednesday Night from 8pm JETS TVwill broadcast classic encounters featuring our opponents from the 2020 Canterbury Cup NSW draw. Our intrepid social media team will “live tweet” the game as if they had entered a time machine and want you to be part of the action.

This weekend we were supposed to travel across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to take on our great rivals and fellow foundation club the North Sydney Bears on their turf at North Sydney Oval

So at 8pm on Wednesday 27th May tune in to JETS TV www.newtownjets.com (we will hopefully be streaming via our Facebook page) and follow us on www.twitter.com/newtownrlfc as we as go back to 2012 when Newtown took on the Bears in a Round 23 NSW Cup game at North Sydney Oval on a bitterly cold and windy Friday night in August. The Frank Hyde Shield was on the line with competition leaders Norths having beaten the Jets 26-22 at Henson Park earlier in the season. Newtown was currently in 6th spot on the ladder still with no guarantees of a finals birth and went into the game with a number of late changes.

Newtown Jets has named its team from the game. Many thanks to our Player Sponsors listed in brackets.

Newtown Jets respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on and that the land area encompassing Henson Park traditionally belonged to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
