The Vic on the Park Team List: Round 13

Newtown Jets head coach Greg Matterson has named his team for the club’s round 13 clash against the Canberra Raiders at Henson Park.

With Cronulla having the bye, the Jets have been boosted with the inclusion of a raft of classy Sharks-contracted players including 2019 Grand Final heroes Sifa Talakai, Dan Vasquez and Billy Magoulias. Other notable players set to wear the royal blue include recent NRL debutant Franklin Pele and former Test prop Andrew Fifita.

The Jets will be looking to make it two wins-in-a-row for the first time in 2021 after beating the Dragons 42-20 to seal the Tom Kirk Cup almost two weeks ago, and having the bye last weekend.

This week, as a special treat for our patrons, we will be keeping our bar open for one hour after fulltime so you can grab a cheeky drink after the match, weather permitting. Additionally, ABC radio will be broadcasting the game LIVE from Henson Park.

As always, we’ll also have plenty of fun activities available for little ones, including two jumping castles and face-painting on the Deicorp Family Hill while Joe’s Ice Cream will also be in attendance.

It’s worth noting that the Glebe Dirty Reds will be playing a Ron Massey Cup curtain raiser against the Kaiviti Silktails at 12:30pm.

There will also be a post-match function at the Henson which will provide fans and members with the opportunity to mingle with the players and staff post-match.

We strongly encourage you to buy tickets in advance. You can find them here. Remember if you pre-book your tickets before 11:59 pm on Friday, they will be $12.50 rather than $15 like they are at the gate. We’ll be running a raffle and a 50-50 competition as well, so remember to bring some loose change for tickets.

Don’t forget that we will have COVID-19 protocols in place at Henson Park. If you haven’t read them yet, we recommend you brush up.  They can be found here.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
